A guest chooses a rental in a few photographs. If none of them makes them stop, the next house gets the booking. Lakewind House was designed backwards from that moment.

Every room was given one thing worth remembering. The Queen Room got its stripes, its crabs, and a pair of red lamps that read from across the house. The living room got a sectional in a blue deep enough to anchor the whole floor. The lower level became a game room that sells the trip to the people who do not get a vote on where to stay: the kids. Outside, a cedar sauna and hot tub sit under the trees, so the listing has something nothing nearby can match.

Then it had to work. Twelve people, wet towels, sandy feet, a week of cooking. Fabrics were chosen for washability, layouts for traffic, and every surface for what it would look like on the day the next guests arrive. Bold is only worth it if it still looks bold in year three.
